We thought it would be a nice idea to see if we couldn't get our fellow podcasters a deal on rooming for the convention. We also thought it might be cool to be able to get together after the camp to keep the conversations going. So, we have put together a couple of deals with local Holiday Inn Express hotels. The reduced rates are available to PodCampers through September 5th. We have been granted 30 rooms at each hotel. After September 5th, any rooms not booked will be doled out to other customers. If our block of rooms sell out, (say you're the 31st person to book a hotel room from PodCamp) it will be at the hotel's discretion if they wish to honor the special pricing, so make sure you book early.

Hotels in General
Hotels close to the convention site seem to be running between $150-$225 per night, while hotels a little bit out of the way are going for as low as $85 per night, so we chose to approach one hotel near the site, and one in Waltham, about 15 miles away. Both hotels offer on-site parking, high-speed wi-fi and Public Transportation access to the convention site. In addition, convention attendees are allowed parking in lots 1 & 2 on a first come, first serve basis at Bunker Hill Community College, so those wishing to drive their own vehicle in may do so. wino

Rate: Through September 5th, you can book a room for $129/night. Tell them you are part of the PodCamp Block when you reserve your room.
Location: This hotel is 1.2 miles from the convention site. Employees told us that the college is a brisk walk from the hotel, but college staff seemed leary of that statement, so its probably best to assume you'll be driving or taking public transporation in, especially in rain or blistering heat.
Driving: Easy drive in to the site. Complimentary on-site parking.
Public Transportation: Catch the rail 2 blocks up. One quick transfer involved. 10-15 minutes. kredyt mieszkaniowy

Rate: Through September 5th, you can book a room for $80/night. Tell them you are part of the PodCamp Block when you reserve your room.
Location: This hotel is in Waltham, roughly 15 miles from the convention site. Located on Route 128 between the Mass and Concord Turnpikes.
Driving: You can take either the Concord Tpke or Mass Tpke. Recently, a tunnel on the Mass Turnpike collapsed which means that there is a detour through city streets along part of that route. Either way, as far as we can determine through conversations with hotel staff, its probably a 30 to 40 minute drive on the weekend, so not too bad.
Public Transportation: Catch the bus in front of the hotel and take it into downtown Waltham. Catch the rail in Waltham, and get off at the College. Figure an hour, or 1.5 hours at the worst.

Transportation in General
The area involved is a thriving, active city with lots of traffic. Most driving can be busy and tight. Many of the natives say that Public Transportation is the way to go. If you want to give it a shot, before booking a room anywhere, make sure that public transporation is close by, and then talk with the front desk staff about how to get where you want to go. If you want to poke around at the options available, visit the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's website. sprzedam bilet
