I'm going to suggest that we seriously go after colleges that have music colleges or are music colleges - BU School of Performing Arts, Emerson College, Berklee, New England Conservatory. If we plan on having any serious number of podsafe musicians, we'll need decent performance spaces, and that screams music school.

Last night I spoke with one of the Trustees at Noble and Greenough School. He will find out for us if we can meet in Dedham for the PodCamp. Douglas Kiang, teacher at Nobles, and I have offered to speak on the subject of using MP3 devices and podcasting as a teaching tool. This podcast can be found at http://www.yourstoryspodcast.blogspot.com. Larry Lawfer By the way, this is a wonderful auditorium and would work fine for the muscians.

Sample Venue Sponsor Letter

Subj: PodCamp Boston Venue Sponsorship

Hello! My name is Christopher Penn, host of the Financial Aid Podcast and one of the organizers of an upcoming event called PodCamp, September 9-10 in the metro Boston are. Where? That's actually the purpose of my inquiry. PodCamp is looking for a sponsor to host the event. We are planning and anticipating a crowd of approximately 200 of the most plugged-in, most active bloggers, podcasters, video podcasters, and pro-am journalists in the New England area and beyond.

The benefits for your organization?

- As the venue sponsor, you'll have the chance to have staff on site to interact and learn from some of the top people in podcasting, blogging, and more

- Your company's name will be splashed everywhere online, in multiple blogs, podcasts, journals, web sites and more - thousands of dollars worth of free publicity online

- Your association with the event will also generate tremendous search engine benefits for your company, as there will be literally hundreds of blogs and podcasts linking to your web site

- You'll get a free "booth" at the Unexpo floor to showcase any products/services that you may want to feature

- You'll be publicly thanked at the event, have the opportunity to say a few words at the opening, and showcase what a great place your company is to work

- You'll also earn the goodwill of approximately 200 bloggers, podcasters, and others in attendance

Does this sound like something that would be a good fit for your organization? We hope so. What we need in terms of a facility is:

- At least 4-5 medium-sized rooms (25 - 50 people) appropriate for discussions or presentations

- One or two large gathering spaces for a crowd of 200 (cafeteria, large open space, etc.)

- Appropriate restroom facilities for a crowd of 200

- High speed internet access (preferably wireless, but wired is OK)

- Free use of the publicly-designated areas of site for the weekend of September 9 - 10

- Small or no fee for facility usage

PodCamp could be one of the biggest, most talked-about events in New England this year for podcasters, bloggers, and well-connected people. Please let me know, what steps can we take to have you be the most important part of this event?

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
